Not in any particular order, Alegra is a writer, mother of three, surfer, wife, student, teacher, and Patron Saint of Wild Gesticulations. She also mostly does her own stunts.
She won the Grand Prize of the 76th Annual Writer's Digest Competition for her memoir, "Salamander Prayer." Since then, other stories and poetry have appeared in various publications.

She is currently set to finish her first novel, Razing Eden, by the end of 2010.
